Simon Katich Keen to Help Grow Cricket in Croatia

01.11.2016.
Former Australian cricket legend Simon Katich says he is keen to help grow the game of cricket in Croatia. Speaking to Jonathan Wicks for Northern Inland Academy of Sport (NIAS) recently, the 56-test cap left-hander said he was interested in helping grow the game of cricket in the land where his grandparents were born. "The Mediterranean Cricket League started this year (in Split), it was the brrainchild Jeff Grizinic who played club cricket in Perth and in Division 3 of the ICC qualifiers for Croatia. They obviously want to grow the game, and a lot of it is obviously expat guys with a Croatian heritage," Katich said, before adding that he hopes to visit and help out one day. "Maybe down the track there may be an opportunity to give back to the game and grow the game in the country of origin where my grandparents were born."
