Inaugural Indoor League

16.01.2010.

On Saturday, January 16th 2010, indoor cricket was played for the first time in Croatia, with the venue being the Sports & Recreation Centre in Trnje, Zagreb.

Each Saturday teams of 8 players are competing against each other for the lucrative title of 'first' Indoor Cricket Champions.  For now the leading team are the Falcons who have a 3-1 record, having lost their first match in the last round.

The rules of Indoor Cricket are based on the Laws of Cricket, but this variation of the game is faster and more dynamic than it's outdoor cousin.  What makes Indoor Cricket very attractive is the fact that every player has to bat (partners bat for 4 overs and try to score as many runs as they can - each time a batsman loses his wicket he does not go out, but 5 runs are deducted from his score so batsmen can actually end up with a negative score) and each player must bowl 2 eight-ball overs.
